Gravitas is hard to define but everyone knows it when they see it. Gravitas is a leadership style or behavior pattern that others perceive as wise, possessing authority and authenticity. Studies have shown that gravitas accounts for 2/3 of executive presence, so it is a quality required for senior leadership.
I coach leaders to embody the qualities and characteristics of gravitas to help them develop executive presence. Coaching for executive presence creates a transformation in your leadership style that others notice, respect and admire.
The following videos are examples of leaders who I believe embody gravitas. Study them to help you understand how you must behave to exude gravitas. Try not to get caught up in politics, just notice the way they stand, sit, speak, move and sound. Enjoy and embody!
